Trevor's Story:

In 2022, Trevor's older brothers caught a stomach bug during Labor Day weekend. When Trevor started throwing up a few days later, his parents assumed the virus had spread. Noticing Trevor wasn't feeling better after a couple of days, his parents took him to an area hospital. Physicians sent the family back home with nausea medication, but his symptoms didn't go away. After visiting a different hospital, a CT scan revealed Trevor had a tumor in his brain. Physicians rushed Trevor and his family to Children's Health, where he immediately began to receive care for Pilocytic astrocytoma – a slow-growing type of brain tumor. For roughly two years, Trevor went to Children's Health each week for chemotherapy treatments, remaining brave and positive through his cancer journey. Despite facing one of the toughest challenges of his life, Trevor wanted to find a way to spread joy at the hospital. So each week, he came armed with a couple jokes for his care team to bring a smile to their faces. Trevor, now 12 years old, rang the bell last year at Children's Health to celebrate the end of his chemotherapy treatment. When he grows up, Trevor wants to be an astronaut, helicopter pilot or scientist. He enjoys tinkering with crafts and playing video games.
